Biotext staff members have the scientific training and expertise to research and analyse scientific data.
We systematically search the scientific literature to provide a complete review of current and historical publications on the topic.
Information gathering and consultations:
We consult key stakeholders in meetings, workshops and public forums. We summarise stakeholder submissions for reports. We attend working party meetings to consider submissions, and amend documents in light of the information received.
Partnership with expert committees and consumer groups:
We partner with expert committees, and consumer and community groups to gather and evaluate complex technical and scientific information.
Development of evidence-based health advice:
We help to develop evidence-based practice in Australia by researching and evaluating current research to contribute to guidelines and advice.
We hold standing offer contracts for two NHMRC expert panels for independent review and assessment of health advice publications.
Data analysis and evaluation:
We evaluate data packages – for example, on the toxicology of agricultural and environmental chemicals, prescription medicines, complementary medicines and food additives.
